When members are able to fulfill their needs, they experience positive affect and feel that they are part of a larger community. The resulting sense of belonging increases their commitment to the community.
The process of creating a sense of community can be difficult, but it is a necessary one. If it is not created, people will not be able to maintain a successful relationship with their neighbors or community. However, if this process is successful, the community can become a powerful force in its inhabitants’ lives.
